INTRODUCTION TO ZEN BUDDHISM
Sunday, April 6, 2-4 PM
Hjemkomst Center, Willow Room
202 First Ave N, Moorhead
The word “Zen” has become part of the American vernacular. It is used to sell everything from candles to garden gnomes. But have you ever wondered what Zen is really all about? Where the word comes from? How it is practiced by million of people around the world?
This is your chance to find out!

Nancy Nanshin White has been a student of Soto Zen for over 20 years. She received permission to teach from Rev. Dai-En Bennage, abbess of Mount Equity Zendo, in 2016. After retiring from the economics faculty of Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, she moves to Moorhead and founded Open Land Sangha. She is a member of the Lay Zen Teachers Association.
Dr. White will discuss the history and practices of Soto Zen, address common misconceptions about the religion, and take questions from the audience.
This program is presented by the Open Land Sangha and the FM Interfaith Center. For more information, please go to www.openlandsangha.org or fminterfaithcenter.org
